"Get a Haircut...

...and I'll take "DaBoy" to get one!" she told me.

This isn't the first time I've been pestered about my locks:
  • As a kid my mother always complained about how short I'd have my hair cut, she loved my "waves."
  • DaMom's Aunty N always hates to see my hair short because I have "such nice curls."
  • DaMom's Memere loves the thickness of it.
  • DaMom doesn't like it too short, "the best length is about when you go and get it cut."
  • My mother-in-law usually has something to say about it if it is too long.
  • When I have a "bad" hair day (As seen to the right) folks at work offer their two cents.

I'm used to the peanut gallery you might say. I think it's humorous.

It seems every year I let my hair go forth and do its own thing. If there is one thing I  know how to do, it's making myself look like hell. My last haircut was in August (I think). When it was time for my appointment I gave the slot to DaMom because her hair was bugging her. I never rescheduled.

A razor hasn't touched my face since Thanksgiving, I've been hacking it down with a beard trimmer every couple of weeks.

Last year I didn't even do that, I just let the beard grow and the wings fly out from under the hat.

Although I did learn how not to cut my hair last year.

This is probably the longest my hair has ever been. The race is on to see who can be the most stubborn. Not like any of us are stubborn here....(snicker)

It's cold out and I like some hair to keep me warm. In the summer it's sheared off because, you guessed it, it's hot outside.

DaBoy needs a haircut and DaMom won't take him to get one until I get one.

He looks like a little girl...

....the old lady's say so in public.

(His Aunty K put those pigtails in, blame her, not us.)

I know he isn't affected by it though. The other day Memere was "arguing" with him about what his gender was.
Memere: Are you mommy's little boy?
DaBoy: MAN

Memere: You are mommy's little boy?
DaBoy: MAN
Memere: Boy
DaBoy: MAN
This continued for a while.

Apparently he is referred to as a little man a bit too much around here. Although this is better than a few months ago when he kept saying he was a "gurl" and his sister was his "brutha".

So who will win the battle of wills?
...probably neither of us, Memere has threatened to take him, he looks like a girl after all.
